Integrated Skills in English (ISE)

This course is designed for students who wish to take one of the Trinity (ISE) exams.

Trinity’s Integrated Skills in English (ISE) is a contemporary four-skill qualification for students requiring real-life English skills and the skills required for further study and employment. ISE is available at five levels from A2 to C2 (CEF) — so there’s a level for every student, and they can build on ISE qualifications over time, taking exam modules whenever they are ready.

There are two exam modules, covering four skill sets – reading & writing, and speaking & listening. They can be taken together, or at different times, as students wish, but a pass in both modules is necessary to get awarded the certification, which is usually after about 8 weeks after the exam.

Results and certificates

When a student passes an exam module they a receive module certificates showing separate results for reading, writing, speaking and listening (Pass, Merit or Distinction). When a student has passed both exam modules at the same level, a Trinity Integrated Skills in English qualification is awarded and a full ISE qualification certificate is issued, usually within 8 weeks of the exam.

Together with exam results we also provide a detailed diagnostic profile report for each student which shows their strengths and areas for improvement across each subset of skills.
